The Job
The Depot Driver is responsible for assisting in the administration and coordination of the company’s Ambulance fleet.
This includes maintaining accurate records of vehicles and driver companions, ensuring that CQC rules and regulations are adhered to, scheduling repairs and preventative maintenance, and ensuring that the necessary numbers of fleet vehicles are available for the successful delivery of the PTS Service.
This is a demanding and challenging role, but it is also a rewarding one. The Fleet Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring that the Non Emergency Ambulance Service is able to operate safely and efficiently and that patients receive the highest quality of care.
Responsibilities
- Safely move and park vehicles within the depot and yard area.
- Carry out basic visual checks on vehicles (e.g., cleanliness, damage, fuel level).
- Support the depot team with simple administrative tasks such as updating vehicle checklists and logs.
- Ensure vehicles are lined up and ready for their next journey.
- Use company systems (e.g. Fleetcheck, Samsara, Echo) to update or check vehicle status — full training provided.
- Keep the yard tidy and organised to maintain a safe working environment.
Skills required
- Willingness to be flexible, versatile, and tolerant in a changing work environment while maintaining effectiveness and driving maximum efficiency.
- Understand ethical behaviour and business practices, ensuring that your own behaviour and the behaviour of others is consistent with these standards and aligns with the values of OnCue.

- Basic computer skills.
Requirements
- Full Clean DVLA driving licence – Drives cars – manual and automatic.
- Good self-discipline, can work proactively without being constantly supervised
- Good work ethic – hardworking, punctual and reliable
- An eye for detail and the ability to use their own initiative
- Clear verbal communication skills
- Basic understanding of how to use computers for data entry – training is provided
